At Country Collection, we take environmental issues seriously and are always looking at ways to reduce our carbon footprint and impact on the world. From designing many of our sustainable clothing collections right here in the UK, using natural fibres and sustainable clothing suppliers, and ensuring paper for our mail order catalogues is sourced from within the UK using PEFC and FSC regulated paper.
We are committed to reducing
paper waste, so our catalogues are receiving a bit of a makeover too. We have
already removed the paper order form included with many of our catalogues and
from Autumn, our mailings will no longer include inserts. For those of you who
wish to continue to order by post, please use the freepost address listed in
the catalogue.
Later this year, all plastic poly wrap material from our
catalogues will be removed to ensure 100% of our mailings can be fully
recycled. We are advocates of slow fashion and strive to create clothes that
are sustainable, adding us to the growing list of becoming one the UK’s
eco-friendly brands.
We know that your Country Collection delivery is highly anticipated, but when it comes to the environment, it’s the packaging that counts. That’s why we have been looking at ways to make your special delivery as sustainable as possible, ensuring your order arrives in tip top condition whilst still offering sustainable fashion.
You’ll be pleased to hear that Country Collection has replaced its plastic postal bags with new brown packaging, made of robust paper that is 100% recyclable, biodegradable and compostable. With variable sizes to match the size of your order, you can include the paper bag with your kerbside recycling, save and reuse again for another delivery using its resealable tab, or if you prefer, tear up and mix the material with your garden compost – it’s non-toxic and will break down within months to leave no trace.
We are committed to reducing
packaging waste inside your delivery too. Working with our trusted suppliers,
we are aiming to remove all unnecessary tissue, plastic collar clips, button
bags and structural cardboard from our garments. By the end of the year, we
intend to have all our internal protective plastic wrapping to be 100%
recyclable.
At HQ, we comply with waste
packaging regulations and the energy savings opportunity scheme. We frequently
monitor our activity to reduce our ongoing energy consumption and waste and are
always looking for new ways to improve our performance. You can read more about our environmental commitment here

Fashion
has become one of the biggest sources of pollution across the world and here at
Country Collection we are deeply conscious about our environmental impact.
Every year, we strive to introduce new ethical fashion solutions to limit our
footprint – such as using digitally printed fabrics which are proven to be
kinder to the environment and manufacturing with minimal production runs to
reduce waste and aim to make sustainable clothing brands in the UK affordable –
every little helps, as they say!
